About
My name is Andres Alvarez. I'm a Software Engineer by trade, and a full-time nerd. I got my bachelors and masters degree in Computer Science from Colorado State University. There I studied Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision. I also had the pleasure of working as a Teacher's Assistant, Tutor, HP intern, and IBM intern while getting my degrees.
Since then I've worked as a Software Engineer including a stint at Google. If you're more interested professionally, I'll leave it as an exercise to track me down on LinkedIn. I'm currently a web developer primarily using Ruby on Rails. I have a passion for statistics, sports, and interesting problems.
Check me out on Bluesky @nerdnumbers.com. I also write regularly in my articles, and run the stats at Boxscore Geeks.
